Clearview Public Schools’ Recognition Night Celebrates our Staff.
On June 7, 2017, sixty-four staff members including principals, teachers, school administrative assistants, FSL workers, educational assistants, learning commons assistants, bus drivers, custodians and retirees were recognized for their hard work and service to Clearview Public Schools.
The event, hosted by the Board of Trustees, included a delicious meal catered by Teresa’s Catering. The guests were entertained by retiring teacher, Dan Kinakin and his student rock band.
Staff employed by Clearview for 5 years, 10 years, 15 years, 20 years, 25 years, 30 years, and 35 years were recognized for their contribution to the school division, highlighted by Donna Boyd-Stadelmann who celebrated 35 years towards the success of Clearview students.
Two of this year’s five retirees were able to attend the evening. Retirees, Dan Kinakin and George Nichols were introduced and spoke to the crowd. Each received a standing ovation after their speeches.
Two special guests were presented awards. Clearview’s 2017 Award of Merit recipient, Hugh Gillard, donated a signed copy of his book to each school library and offered a signed book to each attendee. First year teacher, Aimee Roste, was recognized as Clearview’s 2017 Edwin Parr Award Nominee.
The Clearview Award of Merit is offered to present or former students/employees of the school division who have gone on to distinguish themselves at the national or international level. It is hoped that, by recognizing such excellence, it will act as an inspiration to present and future generations of our students.
The Edwin Parr Award recognizes outstanding work by first year teachers in Alberta. Established in 1964, it has always represented quality teaching and exemplary work.
Special and many thanks to the efforts of Cheryl Cysouw, Director of Human Resources, the Central Services staff and the Board of Trustees ensuring Recognition Night 2017 was a very successful evening.
