Clearview Band Program Receives Donation to Support Students.

The Wm. E. Hay Stettler Secondary Campus' band program just got a nice boost.

A $2,000 donation was presented to Band Director Eric Rahn by Vicki Leuck of Real Country 93.3 Radio.

"A huge thank you for this generous opportunity to purchase more instruments to help students have access to the band program," said Rahn.

The radio station has been an ongoing supporter of the music program with donations. Last year the band program used the money to purchase used larger instruments, auxiliary percussion and more music. The previous year the money was used to expand the band program’s music library.

“Real Country 93.3 and New Cap are proud supporters of local music and growing the arts in Stettler and area,” said Leuck.

The funds come from contributions to Canadian Content Development (CCD) made by broadcasters to initiatives that aid in the development and promotion of Canadian musical and spoken word content for broadcast. There are many approved CCD initiatives including support of local youth orchestras for vocal, instrumental training , purchase of musical instruments or costs of concert performances.
