Stand Up! against bullying
Bullying Awareness Week (November 12-18) is an annual event to increase awareness about the importance of promoting healthy relationships and preventing bullying.
Everyone has a role to play in creating healthy and respectful relationships – and it takes an ongoing effort to create safe and supportive schools and communities.
This year’s theme is “Stand Up!”. We are encouraging Clearview parents, staff and students to promote healthy relationships and stand up against bullying.
Clearview has created strong expectations and standards in our schools that protects all students and staff. We are committed to ensuring that each Clearview student and each staff member is provided with a welcoming, caring, respectful and safe environment that respects diversity and fosters a sense of belonging and a positive sense of self.
Students, staff and visitors are expected to model and to reinforce these beliefs and values. Our decisions and actions are governed by these principles. For more information on Board Policy 22 – Welcoming, Caring, Respectful and Safe Environments, readers can click HERE.
This year, parents, students and staff are encouraged to post their messages online during four days of action using the hashtag #StandUpAB and #csd71.
Day 1: Tuesday November 14
How do you stand up for healthy relationships?
Day 2: Wednesday November 15
Share ideas about how to stand up against bullying or prevent bullying
Day 3: Thursday November 16
Where do you go for information and help?
Day 4: Friday November 17
What initiatives help to prevent bullying in your communities and schools?
“I believe no student or staff member should face bullying, and if bullying occurs they should seek help. Students and staff should feel safe in Clearview schools, and that they know all belong in Clearview and are supported. I encourage everyone to Stand Up! this week and use the hashtag to share your experiences,” shares Peter Barron, Superintendent.
Let’s Stand Up! together – in our schools and our communities
