Clearview announces two new principals

Clearview Public Schools is pleased to announce principal appointments for Botha School and Byemoor School.

Kate Syson has accepted the position as principal of Botha School, and Gwen Keith has accepted the position as principal of Byemoor School.

Kate Syson began her teaching career at Clive School in 2005 and later moved to Ponoka School where she was an inclusive education specialist.

In 2013 my husband, Brad, and I decided to move back "home" to once again live in Stettler. It was then that I began working for Clearview School Division, first as a Vice-Principal at Wm. E Hay, and a year later as a Vice-Principal at Stettler Elementary School where I continue to work today.

I have absolutely loved my time here at SES and am very thankful to have worked with such a great admin team, staff, parents and students. I believe this experience has prepared me for this new and exciting opportunity, I am very eager and looking forward to beginning this new chapter in my teaching career.

I am very much looking forward to meeting the students, staff, and parents at Botha School and becoming an integral part of the Botha community,” said Mrs. Syson.

Gwen Keith graduated with a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta. Her first teaching job was in Byemoor 29 years ago. She has taught Kindergarten to Grade 3. During this current school year she was also the Vice Principal.

Mrs. Keith shared, “I have been married to Jim for 27 years and we live on a farm just west of Byemoor. We have two daughters who both live in Edmonton.

Though I have always taught the primary grades, I enjoy working with the older students with whole school activities, concerts, and trips. I look forward to having the opportunity to work more closely with all members of the school.

There is a great team at Byemoor School that I enjoy working with already and, moving forward, I hope we are able to build on our strengths in order to support the success of all of our students. The Byemoor and Endiang community is very supportive of our school and I look forward to continuing to work with people from the community in various capacities as well.”

Congratulations to Kate Syson and Gwen Keith! We wish you well in your new roles.
