Mrs. Wendy Coppock graduated from the University of Alberta with a B.Ed.. She has taught for 29 years everything from Kindergarten to Grade 12 and most her experience is with Clearview Public Schools. Wendy has extensive leadership skills being a principal and vice principal for Clearview. In addition to administrative duties, Wendy has also taught Junior and Senior CTS Foods and Fashion, English 30 and has been a site based special education and inclusion teacher. Her commitment to students goes beyond the classroom, she has been a team supervisor, High School Prom and Convocation advisor, counsellor, and active member in her community.
Wendy has been married to Tom Coppock for 24 years. Tom runs a mixed farming operation north of Castor in the County of Paintearth. Together they have three sons. Kelly studied Agricultural Marketing and works for AFSC out of the Stettler Office. Riley studied Agricultural Production. Presently, he is working on the family farm, and he will soon travel to Australia where he will work in various agricultural operations. Cutler attends Gus Wetter School in Castor, and will finish high school at the end of June. He will be attending Olds College in the fall in the Heavy Equipment Technician Diploma Program. Looks like all the boys are following in their father's footsteps and will be Olds College Alumni.
Over the years Wendy has been busy driving the boys around in their sports where she has managed hockey and ball teams off and on throughout these years. Wendy and Tom have also been a host family in the Agricultural Trainee program for 11 years where they have hosted young individuals from various countries on a young foreign worker program. They are proud to say they have "adopted children" from Australia, Denmark, England, Norway and Sweden. When all is said and done, Wendy really enjoys taking a moment and getting lost on a great book.
Wendy states, “I have loved being an elementary teacher from the first day I walked into the classroom. I have many years of experience within this area and I have always been an advocate for early learning and literacy. I am excited for the opportunity and challenge of the new position as Early Learning and Literacy Coordinator with Clearview Public Schools.”
Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Wendy Coppock to her new role in Clearview.
