Letter from medical officer re: influenza
Posted on 11/23/2022

As the cold weather has arrived, so has influenza season. While some “flu” is normal each year, Alberta Health Services has issued specific information about how the 2022-23 season may impact children 16 years of age and younger.

We encourage you to review this letter from the Chief Medical Officer of Health and consider actions you can take to prevent the spread of illness.

Clearview would ask that you please keep your children home when they are sick.

For those managing illness at home, you may wish to consider an online resource called HEAL. It provides health education and learning, and advice from Alberta Pediatric Emergency Medicine experts regarding “home management options for specific symptoms and guidance on when to seek medical care.”

We appreciate your efforts to work together with us on this. Thanks and stay well!

Scot Leys,

Clearview Superintendent of Schools
