Wendy Coppock has a long, dedicated history in Clearview with roles as a teacher at Waverly School for one year, Principal at Halkirk School for one year, teacher and Vice Principal at Gus Wetter School for 21 years, and has most recently held the position of Early Learning and Literacy Coordinator at the Central Services serving all Clearview schools.
“I am so pleased that Wendy Coppock will take over the reins of Gus Wetter next year. She has a wealth of experience that ranges from Kindergarten to Grade 12. As well, she is very familiar with the community. Her skill set will be a great asset to that school community.”

Ms. Coppock has been married to her husband Tom for 28 years and resides on their family farm where Tom was born and raised. Castor has been home to the Coppock families for 116 years. Tom and Wendy have raised their three sons in the Castor community and Gus Wetter School was their school of choice for the K-12 years.
Today, two out of their three sons are actively involved in the family farm after their post-secondary studies in agriculture were completed. Their third son is employed in Stettler and apprenticing with Cervus Equipment.
While raising their family, the Coppocks have been involved in many aspects of the Castor community including 4-H, Minor hockey and minor ball. Tom and Wendy continue to serve on several organizations and boards in the community.
“The journey of learning never gets old. I continue to be grateful for the many experiences Clearview Public Schools has provided me and I am honoured to accept the position of Principal of Gus Wetter School. I look forward to returning to the vibrant school where I will diligently honour the school motto: Celebrate Learning - Achieve Excellence.
Gus Wetter School has a proud history, wonderful students, excellent staff, and a very supportive community. In the words of Gary Zukav, ‘Your heart is your home and all roads lead to home.’
I am very proud to be home.”
