Erskine students participate in bus safety poster contest

Erskine School students from grades K - 6 participated in a provincial poster contest to promote School Bus Safety Week.

Annually, the Alberta Student Transportation advisory Council sponsors a provincial poster contest to promote School Bus Safety Week (October 18-24, 2020).  For this year, Erskine School provided submissions from two classes.

The theme this year was “My Driver, My Hero, and posters had to be positive in approach, demonstrate only proper school bus safety behaviour and feature a yellow school bus.

Clearview Trustees were able to see the contest entries yesterday and chose two finalists (one from Grade 4 and one from Grade 5).

The finalist posters will now be sent to the Alberta Student Transportation Advisory Council, who will select winning entries.  Each winner from Grades K to 6 whose poster best illustrates the theme will receive a $25 gift card, a framed original of their poster along with a cheque for $100 for their classroom, and an engraved plaque.  The committee may choose to select posters for an honourable mention and those contestants will be selected to receive a $25 gift card.

The Board would like to express their thanks to all the students who participated and that they enjoyed seeing all the wonderful artwork!

You can see all the posters on Clearview's Facebook Page

Winners of this year's Bus Safety Poster contest are Kate Chapman and Bree Stewart.
