Important Update: PowerSchool Data Breach Notifications 

PowerSchool has started emailing families about the recent cybersecurity incident. You may receive this email even if your child has not attended Clearview Public Schools in several years. PowerSchool retains records for past students and staff, which may be why you were contacted.

 

What to Do:

  1. Check your inbox for an email from PowerSchool - (Ps-sis-incident@mail.csid.com, Ps-sis-incident@mail1.csid.com, Ps-sis-incident@mail2.csid.com).
  2. Review the details about the breach and what personal information may have been affected.
  3. Follow the instructions to enroll in free identity protection services if needed.
     Stay cautious—PowerSchool will never ask for personal or banking details via email or phone.

 What Information Was Involved? (As confirmed by PowerSchool)
PowerSchool has stated that the breach involved limited demographic information.

For Students:

  • Alberta Student Number (ASN)
  • First and last name
  • Date of birth
  • Student phone numbers
  • Home/mailing address
  • Basic medical alert information (e.g., asthma, allergies, diabetes)

 What Was NOT Affected?

  • Financial information (banking or credit card details)
  • Student profile photos
  • Passwords
  • Birth certificates
