Clearview is pleased to announce Warren Aspenes as Division Principal

Clearview Public Schools is pleased to announce that Warren Aspenes is the successful candidate for the position of Division Principal starting in the 2023-24 school year. Aspenes is currently the Principal of Donalda School.

“As Division Principal, Warren will continue to be an important part of Clearview’s leadership team,” says Scot Leys, Clearview Superintendent.  “He brings years of experience to this new position and will be a great support to our schools, teachers and principals.  Much of his work in this new role will be spent fostering conditions to maximize learning and performance of staff. We look forward to working with Warren and feel fortunate to be benefiting from his expertise in the areas of literacy and numeracy planning, professional development of teachers and mentoring of principals.”

Aspenes is completing 35 years with Clearview Public Schools where he has taught in six different locations - Coronation, Halkirk, Waverly, Erskine, Wm. E. Hay and Donalda making him very familiar with the schools in the division and staff throughout.  Twenty three of his years with Clearview have been in school-based administration. 

Aspenes and his wife, Nancy, have raised their family in Stettler and continue to reside in the community.  “Our children are now having families of their own so we are blessed to be spending time with grandchildren,” says Aspenes.  

“I am excited to take on this role to support some very important work that Clearview is focusing on in the area of literacy and to support the growth of new administrators in our schools,” explains Aspenes.  “My time and experience at Donalda School promoted a keen interest in literacy and with education being so critical for providing our youth with hope for the future, it is crucial that they all have a basic level of literacy to support their journey through our schools and into their lives beyond.”

“In terms of supporting new principals, I am very glad to help out with this initiative, as the expectations and duties of a new principal can be overwhelming to say the least,” says Aspenes.  “I truly hope that I can use my experience and coaching skills to provide some of our young administrators with support to make their schools successful.”
