
2025 - Jennifer Mah
The Clearview Award of Merit honours exceptional individuals who have achieved excellence in their field, whether in sports, the arts, academics, entrepreneurship, or public service, and used their success to uplift others. This years award winner was nominated by Kaye Hauck. From Castor to the world—Jennifer Mah, a proud Gus Wetter School graduate (Class of ’86), has been recognized with the Clearview Award of Merit for her extraordinary contributions to health education and rural communities. Now the Dean of the Faculty of Health Studies at NorQuest College, Jennifer has brought nursing programs back to rural Alberta, helping train the next generation of health care professionals in communities like Castor and Forestburg. She’s a national and global leader, recently recognized as one of the “100 Most Influential Filipina Women in the World.” Jennifer’s story is one of vision, compassion, and action, and we’re incredibly proud to celebrate her as a Clearview alum who never forgot her roots.

2025 - Gayle McMillan
Clearview Public Schools is honoured to present the Community Excellence Award to Gayle McMillan, the heart of Botha School for over 26 years. This award honours those who have made a significant and lasting contribution to the success and well-being of our students and school communities.
Nominated by her daughter Jessie, Gayle has not only shaped a warm, welcoming school environment as the longtime administrative assistant at Botha School—she’s also been a pillar of the community. From leading the Terry Fox Run and planting flowers at the cemetery to volunteering with local seniors, 4-H, and community causes, Gayle is a quiet force of compassion and commitment.
We thank Gayle for her legacy of care, community service, and tireless dedication to students and neighbours alike.

The Partner in Educational Excellence Award celebrates Clearview staff who demonstrate outstanding dedication to student learning and development. These individuals model innovation, engagement, and a deep commitment to creating meaningful educational experiences.
Michael Bayer, a teacher at William E. Hay Stettler Secondary Campus, goes far beyond the classroom. Nominated by student August Roenspies, Mr. Bayer is known for his weekend study sessions, lightning-fast email responses—even during holidays—and showing up for students no matter the circumstance.
His dedication doesn’t stop after graduation—he continues to support former students through university-level physics. Mr. Bayer is a true example of unwavering commitment to student success.

Clearview Public Schools is proud to recognize Jefferson McClung, auto tech teacher at Wm. E. Hay Stettler Secondary Campus, as a recipient of the Partner in Educational Excellence Award.
Nominated by Charissa Splane, Mr. McClung is known not only for his expertise in the shop but for the life-changing impact he has on his students. Whether it’s teaching practical automotive skills or helping a student maintain their family vehicle, his support builds confidence, trust, and real-world success.

2025 - Aislyn Holland
Congratulations, Aislyn Holland – Student Excellence Award!
The Student Excellence Award recognizes students who show exceptional effort, growth, and determination. Whether through academic progress, leadership, or community involvement, these students demonstrate a commitment to bettering themselves and those around them.
Aislyn Holland, a remarkable Grade 12 student, was nominated by Stacey Holland for her academic excellence, leadership, and compassion. Aislyn balances a full course load and dual credit program with marks above 80%, while consistently volunteering at school and in her community.
She’s a quiet leader, always lending a hand—especially to students with special needs—and dreams of becoming a high school science teacher. Aislyn is the kind of student who uplifts others by simply being herself.
The Clearview Star Award recognizes staff and community members who have made significant contributions to our school communities through volunteerism, as a community partner, or supported our schools at the school community level.

Darren Fleischhacker: Shaping Futures with Compassion and Innovation
In the halls of Wm. E Hay Stettler Secondary Campus, one of the names that stands out when it comes to transforming the lives of students is Darren Fleischhacker, or as his students fondly call him, Mr. Fly. Renowned for his innovative teaching methods and deep commitment to student welfare, Mr. Fly's influence on his students is profound and lasting. This year, his exceptional contributions have been rightfully acknowledged with the Clearview Star Award, an honour bestowed on individuals who significantly enhance Clearview’s school communities through dedication and service.
Darren's journey is one of relentless passion and unwavering dedication, characteristics that have significantly impacted his colleagues and the broader community. One of the most touching testimonials comes from Alison Baird, who nominated Darren for this accolade. Reflecting on the profound impact Darren has had, Alison shares, “Darren has been a beacon of support and guidance for my son, Seth. His dedication goes beyond his duties; it reaches into the heart of what community and mentorship stand about. Watching him interact with Seth, I've seen my son grow from a shy individual into a confident young man ready to take on challenges with enthusiasm.”

Jenna's journey with Clearview is both inspiring and exemplary, beginning her career behind the wheel as a bus driver and evolving into a pivotal figure within the department. A proud graduate of Clearview herself, Jenna has not only excelled in her professional role but has also become a cornerstone of support and guidance for her team.
Nominated by Hugh Cox, Jenna is celebrated for her exceptional contributions and commitment to excellence in school transportation. Hugh lauds Jenna’s unparalleled dedication, stating, "Jenna is the lifeline for all bus drivers, along with coordinating buses for field trips. She is the go-to girl for help, and they would be lost without her." Her role extends beyond mere coordination; she is instrumental in training new drivers, bringing invaluable firsthand experience and understanding from her days in the driver’s seat.
